Boston Public Library, West End Branch

Boston Public Library’s West End Branch is a prominent library in downtown Boston.  BWA Architecture designed the replacement of the old wall with a modern curtain wall system while maintaining aesthetic principles of design from 1960’s. The curtain wall also featured colored mullions and efficient thermal properties. The entrance was reconfigured to create an accessible, yet graceful approach to the building. Other work included accessible restrooms, new flooring, and paint finishes. The library maintained operations during construction and was open to the public.
