Bella Luna and Milky Way Bar are part of the larger Brewery complex - a National Historic Register, mixed-use commercial building and are now neighborhood anchors. BWA Architecture transformed a crumbling, abandoned space into a chic restaurant with a broader intent to revitalize a lifeless urban corner in the community. The creative thought process hinged on keeping the austerity of the historic structure while introducing a sense of playfulness to sustain the ethos of a trendy restaurant. So, the design celebrates the original elements of the building, such as exposed brick in the lounge and dining areas, while adding a layer of vibrant elements that create a lively, fun space. An outdoor patio reinforces the corner presence in the neighborhood.
