BWA Architecture was first hired to help Mike’s Gym and Fitness Center relocate from the South End to the Brewery Complex in Jamaica Plain, MA. Designs for the renovated gym included: layout for gym equipment, new toilet rooms, shower facilities and locker rooms. Due to the success of the original project, BWA was rehired to design the expansion of the gym into the newly renovated adjacent Brewery building, also designed by BWA, part of a larger historic complex. The expansion provided space for more equipment in an amazing double height space with very large windows. BWA also designed an attractive juice bar and small management office.
