Morton Street Commuter Rail Station

BWA Architecture provided station architecture for the Fairmount Corridor Improvement Project, including full upgrades to Morton Street commuter rail station.  BWA designed the platform canopy, bike rack, passenger waiting area, and accessibility features.  Design consideration was given to durability and ease of maintenance for such things as snow removal, light bulb and fixture standardization, and railing design which minimized on-site welding and field painting.  Improvements substantially upgraded transit service in the neighborhood by bringing the existing station into code compliance, adding a new station that is convenient to local communities, and making the station accessible for people with disabilities.
